University External Examiner Induction

All newly appointed External Examiners will receive a letter inviting them to attend the City University London's External Examiner Induction, for a generic induction to the role of external examining.

For External Examiner's who have been invited to attend the next External Examiner induction session due to take place on 11 Decemeber 2012, topics for this event will include:

• Introduction to City University London - aims, character, strategy
• Types and roles of External Examiner at City and why they are important
• What you need to know about the Programme
• City's policies on assessment and feedback
• The External Examiner's Annual Report  
• The broader HE context 
• Question and answer session

At the end of the Session, there will be an opportunity for Programme Directors and External Examiners to have one-to-one programme specific induction sessions.  It is expected that these will last approximately one hour, but Externals should discuss this with their Programme Director.
