About City

Risk management

Risk management is the process of identifying, quantifying, and managing the risks that City faces, in the context of City's overall strategy.

The President has overall responsibility for the governance and management of risk and for reporting on risk to Council. The Strategic Planning and Performance Unit manages this process.

Effective risk management helps the University achieve its strategies and plans while protecting its people, assets, profits, research and reputation. It bring new rewards and opportunities and encourages staff to take calculated strategic risks within the University's tolerances and to manage threats effectively.
